Let’s face it; trying to be on every social media

platform can be exhausting.

And to be honest, it’s a terrible idea. While I do not suggest being on more than 2 platforms, especially when you’re starting out or if you don’t have a team yet, I have found ways to easily maintain your presence on the platforms that do work for you.

After helping over 100 entrepreneurs grow their Social Media accounts, I have learned some easy hacks along the way.

Batch and Schedule Content

Do you ever make a post just because you feel like you have to? While it is important to stay consistent, scrambling to throw something together every single day with no intention is not helping your strategy

The easiest way to create a clear strategy and to feel confident in your social media content is to plan at least a month’s worth of posts at a time. This way you can keep track of information and graphics that you use so you don’t repeat anything and have a clear customer journey.

This also helps your feed feel more cohesive when you know what is being posted when. You can prevent 3 promotional posts going up back-to-back and make sure to include engaging and trust-building captions in between.

Scheduling your content will make your life so much easier. Can you imagine the feeling of having all of your content posted FOR YOU? Once you have your Canva images and photos picked out, use an app like Later or Planoly to auto publish to your desired platforms.

This will prevent forgetting to post and will give you more time off of the apps.  You can also batch your reels to have them ready to go and also write the caption and create the cover photo beforehand so it won’t change your feed plan, it will just be one extra step to hit publish.

social Media is NOT about being Perfect, it’s about being CONSISTENT

While a strategy is incredibly important, you also have to find a way to avoid perfectionism from preventing you to post. Try not to overthink every little detail, just make sure that you do have a plan.

While I highly recommend a strategy, your posts don’t have to be perfect and every picture doesn’t have to look professionally done. Just because your hair isn’t perfect in your reel or your story is kind of sloppy… it’s better to just show up than strive for perfection with every single element. You will never know what resonates with your audience until you post it… I’m a firm believer in just going for it and being yourself.

It’s supposed to be SOCIAL and a way to connect with people, have some FUN!

This is why you should favor consistently posting over perfect posting!

There have been so many times I put my entire heart into a post or spent hours on a reel and NO ONE LIKED IT or even worse, NO ONE SAW IT!

It’s not about the perfect post because you don’t know what your audience wants to see.

Be consistent on the platforms that you enjoy and always offer 1 or all of the following: Education, Inspiration, or Entertainment.

Keep it Sustainable

When I started my business, I felt like I was running nonstop in confused circles trying to find clients, wasting so much time and energy on platforms and strategies that didn’t work.  Then I realized I actually truly LOVE Facebook groups, writing copy, and making reels.

So instead of trying to figure out how Twitter works (ick) or pretending YouTube is fun for me (I babble on long-form videos and find editing to be exhausting) I made a decision to only do what feels good for ME.

The result?

Clients coming to me rather than chasing leads on platforms that I hate.

And I’ve realized that my clients who seem the most stuck are the ones trying to show up on tons of different platforms and marketing outlets. This is so unnecessary and leads to very fast burnout.

The most important components in your Marketing strategy, heck in anything that you do, are

☝Focus

✌Sustainability

Take a minute to reflect on what YOU actually enjoy doing and build a strategy and BUSINESS off of that. If you are on 6 different platforms but can’t stay consistent with any of them, that isn’t a strategy, that’s a recipe for hating your business.

RECYCLE YOUR CONTENT

One piece of content can be used across all of your platforms. Not only is this a huge timesaver, but it will also keep your tone and message on-brand.

-Start with a blog post

-Turn your blog into a newsletter with a few tweaks for your email subscribers

-Separate the newsletter into multiple social media posts

This can also work the other way; starting with a Social Media post that you’d like to expand on and turning it into a newsletter or blog post. You don’t have to constantly rack your brain for new content ideas when you already have wonderful copy published on your platforms.

Save your precious energy and market smarter not harder.

Guess what? This entire blog was made out of Instagram posts!
